Continental greets signature
Continental - 25/06/09 - Paris/Clairoix - the French State, the French and German managements and employee representatives, who participated to the negotiations - met in Paris to sign an agreement about the further procedure and next steps at Clairoix which was based on the preliminary agreement concluded on June 6. It is an important step for all the employees as this document includes the main negotiated social measures of the jobs safe­guard plan as well as the details of their implementation.

“This agreement shows that Continental respects its social commitments towards the 1,120 em­ployees concerned by the project of closure of Clairoix factory”, declared Dr. Thomas Winkel­mann, representative of Continental German management as head of Human Resources Europe and Africa for Passenger and Light Trucks. “In the next weeks, several meetings with the employee representatives will be organized to continue the regular information and consul­tation process around the project within an alleviated framework,” specified in addition Dr. Winkelmann.
